ClassifiRe — Privacy Policy

ClassifiRe is a Chrome extension that adds category badges (advice, judgment,
question, personal experience, support, update) to comments on
r/relationship_advice threads on reddit.com.
What data is processed
- Public comment text. When you open an r/relationship_advice
thread, the text of comments visible on the page (truncated to 2,000 characters
each) and their public Reddit comment IDs are sent to our classification
service to be labeled. This is public content written by third parties; it is
the only page content the extension reads or transmits.
- Your IP address is seen by the classification service, as
with any web request, and is used only for rate limiting. The rate-limit
counter expires within two minutes. IP addresses are never stored alongside
comment data.
What is stored, and for how long
- Labels (category + low-effort flag), keyed only by the
public comment ID, are cached on the server for up to 90 days so each comment
is classified once, and cached locally in your browser
(
chrome.storage.local).
- Your preferences (enable/disable, dim vs. hide) are stored
in
chrome.storage.sync in your browser profile.
- Comment text itself is not stored by the service after
classification completes.
What is not collected
No accounts, no browsing history, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking
identifiers. The extension does not read anything you type, your Reddit
account, private messages, or any page outside reddit.com thread pages it
badges.
Third parties
- Cloudflare hosts the classification service (Cloudflare
Workers and Workers KV).
- Anthropic provides the language model (Claude) that
assigns labels. Comment text is submitted to Anthropic's API for
classification. Anthropic does not train models on API data by default.
Your choices
- Disable the extension or clear its local label cache at any time from the
extension's options page.
- Server-side cached labels contain no personal data (only a public comment
ID and a category) and expire automatically after 90 days.
